We Rock the Spectrum – Northridge is back!
\nAfter more than a year and a half of searching for the right location, We Rock the Spectrum – Northridge is officially returning to the community.
\nOwners Howard and Rebecca Luck originally opened the Northridge location with the goal of creating a meaningful and inclusive space inspired by their own experiences within the neurodiverse community. When the previous location closed, they remained committed to finding a new home and rebuilding the sense of connection and belonging that so many local families had come to rely on.
\nAs the search continued and the vision for Northridge grew, Dina Kimmel stepped in as a partner to help bring the project back to life. As the Founder and CEO of We Rock the Spectrum, Dina has spent years building the brand’s mission of inclusion and acceptance across communities around the world. Her involvement in Northridge reflects not only her belief in Howard and Rebecca’s vision, but also the importance of restoring this location as a safe haven for families in the area.
\nTogether, Howard, Rebecca, and Dina worked tirelessly to secure a brand-new nearly 7,000 sq. ft. location that will now also serve as a Regional Training Facility, helping support future growth and development throughout the WRTS network.
\nFor Howard and Rebecca, this reopening is deeply personal.
\nHoward grew up with ADD/ADHD, auditory processing disorder, and was later diagnosed with Dyslexia. Despite being told throughout school that college and long-term career success may not be possible, he went on to earn his degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing.
\nRebecca was diagnosed at birth with right-side hemiparesis and also faced learning disabilities growing up. Together, their experiences shaped their passion for creating environments where children and families feel accepted, understood, and empowered.
\nThe couple first met in junior high at just 12 years old, beginning a friendship and love story that has now lasted more than 25 years.
\nIn 2018, Howard and Rebecca began volunteering and working with We Rock the Spectrum before eventually taking ownership of the Northridge location. Their perseverance, resilience, and commitment to inclusion continue to be at the heart of everything Northridge represents today.
\nWhat started as a promise to return has now become something even greater, a renewed home for the community and a continued reminder that every child deserves a place where they belong.
